Cloud Seeding Carried Out Over Riau

SUBANG, Aug 23 (Bernama) -- Cloud-seeding was carried out again Tuesday in the air space over the Riau islands of Indonesia.
The operation was undertaken by a C130 aircraft of the Royal Malaysia Air Force (RMAF) that took off at 4 pm from the RMAF base here.
A reporter and cameraman from Bernama's audio visual unit were taken along in the operation.
Ismail Ratiman of the Meteorological Services Department, who headed the operation, said the large cumulus clouds they encountered over the air space were conducive for the cloud-seeding operation.
He said the operation would ensure sufficient rainfall(now if they can make it rain there basically is no limit to what they can do. Got me thinking this whole "Katrina" could have been done by man. By the way why do they name Hurricanes?) in the smouldering peatlands of Sumatran province that had caused severe haze in Malaysia two weeks ago.
