365 and we still strive
The color of blackness
The richness of our heritage
Our convictions
And the struggles and triumphs we faced
The soul of our people
Lives on through us
The descendants of strong and determined people
For they were the one’s who paved the way
Racism
Still overshadows our dreams
Equality
For to obtain these goals we still meet with defiance
Our pigmentation
Is a documentation
Of what our people as a whole
Have been through in past and present society
Through the years
We have had great leaders
One’s who showed us the way
Te who built a foundation for freedom and equality
Within this 21st century
We still face hatred and brutality
But it only makes us stronger in our beliefs
That one day we shall overcome
The myths
And stereotypes
The negativity
Only fuels the determination of our people
365 days black
And through the years
We come together as a proud and strong race
As we build a foundation for future generations
365 days black….
